Approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in June 2016, the National Engineering Laboratory for Subsea Equipment Testing and Detection Technology was jointly established by the NMEI Group (the legal person) and 9 institutions including China Classification Society. Aiming at problems in China’s subsea equipment industry such as the lack of comprehensive testing technology and a weak quality-assurance technological foundation, the laboratory implemented 11 key testing and detection technologies, including the 1500-meter-deep full-scale fatigue performance of Tendon to meet the urgent need for systematic and standardized testing of subsea equipment in China's marine energy development. The laboratory has undertaken 12 national, provincial or ministerial sci-tech research projects and presided over or participated in the preparation of 25 standards or specifications.

The National Marine Equipment Quality Inspection Center

Brief Overview:

The National Marine Equipment Quality Inspection Center (Shandong), approved by the former AQSIQ in August 2012, is the only comprehensive marine equipment inspection and testing center in China.

The National Marine Equipment Quality Inspection Center (Shandong), approved by the former AQSIQ in August 2012, is the only comprehensive marine equipment inspection and testing center in China. Located in the core zone of the Oceanic Valley in Qingdao, the Center covers an area of 71,800 square meters, with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan. Having 7 testing labs for subsea equipment, marine cable and etc., it has been certificated with CMA, CAL, CNAS, and DILAC and accredited by three classification societies, namely, China Classification Society, Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR) and Bureau Veritas (BV). Enjoying mutual recognition of test results with 4 top international authoritative institutions such as SGS, TUV, ITS and NEMKO, it is capable of providing more than 5,700 inspection and testing services for products in the fields of marine equipment, rail transit, power, military, automobiles, and new energy.

The National Platform for Major Marine Equipment R&D, Inspection and Testing

Brief Overview:

In April 2016, the National Platform for Major Marine Equipment R&D, Inspection and Testing was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission for construction.

In April 2016, the National Platform for Major Marine Equipment R&D, Inspection and Testing was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission for construction. Focusing on the key generic technologies of China's shipbuilding and marine equipment manufacturing industry, it is designed to be a national R&D inspection and testing platform with comprehensive capacity for marine engineering equipment testing and inspection and an improved testing and standardization system so as to meet the needs of the marine equipment industry. It will provide strong technical support for China's marine equipment manufacturing industry in breaking key bottlenecks and speeding up the industrialization of the research results.
